Accessibility Statement

HelloStello is committed to making language learning accessible to everyone, including users with disabilities. We design and build our product to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we support

On the iOS app

  • VoiceOver. All interactive elements have descriptive accessibility labels.
  • Dynamic Type. All text scales up to the iOS Accessibility XL (AX5) size without truncation or overlap.
  • Reduce Motion. When enabled, we suppress the slot-machine animation on points-earned, the Lovable gradient transitions, and the card-flip motion.
  • Reduce Transparency. When enabled, the Lovable surface renders as a solid color (#EEEDFE) instead of the gradient.
  • Color Filters. All interactive elements communicate state through more than just color — icons, labels, or shapes also indicate state.
  • Bold Text. When enabled, all text renders in a heavier weight without breaking layout.
  • High contrast. Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI elements).

On this website

  • Semantic HTML throughout.
  • All images have descriptive alt text.
  • All forms have visible labels associated with inputs.
  • Keyboard navigation is supported across all interactive elements, with visible focus rings.
  • No content depends on color alone to convey meaning.

What we're still working on

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We're actively expanding our support for screen readers across all surfaces. If you encounter an accessibility issue or have a suggestion, please contact us at accessibility@hellostello.app — we read every email and take accessibility feedback seriously.
